Description of the research topic
Preparation of multi- and/or selectively silylated heterocyclic compounds (e.g.
uric acid derivatives, etc.) and conversion thereof in organic
syntheses. Synthesis of molecular complexes and metal compounds by
silane elimination methods, with respect to their special use in
materials science. Development of catalytic, extractive biphase, and
support-bonded silylation reactions. The role of secondary interactions (e.g. tetrel bonding) in governing the supramolecularity and reactivity of Group 14 organometallic compounds for catalytic and synthetic applications.Thesis supervisor: Roland Szalay
Required language skills: English
Recommended language skills: German, Russian, French
Further requirements: good synthetic skill in inorganic/organic/organometallic chemistry labs, interest in preparative techniques, structure investigation/separation methods, knowledge in (applied) physical/theoretical chemistry, susceptibility for interdisciplinary viewHow to Apply?
