Synthesis of geopolymers using waste materials

  • Description of the research topic

    The aim of the study is development of new, low-cost synthesis route for geopolymers using waste materials such as red mud, bottom ash and slag, recycled aggregates of concrete, marble, or cement. The new procedure is based on sol-gel chemistry. Further aims are to investigate the structure of geopolymers and develop conditions for fabrication of products with very good hardness or large porosity.
