Human thermal comfort model validation experiments in the cities of Budapest, Hungary and São Paulo, Brazil
-
Description of the research topic
The subject of human thermal comfort is one of the main topics of human biometeorology. At the University Eötvös Loránd, a clothing index model is used for characterizing human thermal comfort. The model is jointly developed by Depaertments of Meteorology and Anthropology. It describes outdoor human thermal load and sensation of a clothed human treating human body energy balance taking into account both the meteorological and human factors. Since the climate of Budapest and Sao Paulo differs considerably, the model would be tested as detail as possible for both Budapest- and Sao Paulo-specific meteorological conditions (climate, weather). Human diversity would be considered by using Heath-Carter somatotype classification method. The results obtained could significantly increase the use of model worlwide.
