Pan-European Hackathon to develop innovative solutions to overcome societal challenges related to coronavirus

The #EUvsVirus Hackathon: A pan European initiative to overcome societal challenges related to COVID-19

In times of crisis, solidarity is key. Help tackle the Coronavirus challenges by putting your brilliant minds at work. The PhD Hub Network, universities, companies, public and private organisations as well as PhD candidates can support the #EUvsVirus initiative.

The European Commission, in close collaboration with the EU member states, is launching a Pan-European #EUvsVirus Hackathon on 24, 25 and 26 April to connect civil society, innovators, partners and investors across Europe in order to develop innovative solutions for coronavirus-related challenges.

The EC is calling on problem-solvers, mentors, partners and experts for hacking the COVID-19 crisis in relation to Health & Life, Business Continuity, Social & Political Cohesion, Remote Working & Education, Digital Finance and so forth. Participants can register until the 19th of April on the EU euvsvirus.org website and consult the full list of challenges.

This pan-European hackathon is an example of how Europe can come together in times of crisis.  It’s inspiring to witness this show of solidarity by our community of innovators. Our most talented minds will do their best to find solutions to coronavirus and support our citizens. This is European innovation in action. – European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel
