Faculty is the biggest at the University of Lodz – we have 6000 students and about 400 academic teachers. Our staff consists of highest ranking scientists and outstanding practitioners, almost every fourth of them bears the rank of associate or titular (full) professor.
Our University, among eight other Polish universities, earned a position in the QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia. We are also mentioned in the Times Higher Education ranking.
The Faculty was established in 1965 – we have a long tradition and half a century of experience in teaching and doing research.
We provide the highest quality of research and teaching. Our Faculty was granted the highest “A” category by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland.
Our Faculty combines exact sciences with humanities. Research and didactic work is conducted within eight institutes: Institute of Applied Economics and Informatics, Institute of Econometrics, Institute of Economics, Institute of Finance, Institute of International Economics, Institute of Sociology, Institute of Spatial Economics, Institute of Statistics and Demography.
The Faculty’s staff successfully manages international grants and research projects in the country and abroad. We cooperate with over 50 universities from Europe, North and South America and Asia.
Among our graduates are ministers in Polish government, politicians, diplomats, representatives of local authorities, heads of banks and financial institutions.
We are the most internationalised faculty of the University of Lodz. Every year our programmes attract more and more foreign students and visiting scholars.
The Faculty regularly hosts prominent people of science, media and business who give guest lectures and conduct workshops.
