The main objective of the doctoral program in Latin America and the European Union in the International Context is to train professors, researchers, experts specialized in understanding the current reality of Latin America, with special emphasis on its insertion in the changing international context. The processes of universalization of the XXI century require the training of specialists with an interdisciplinary preparation who are capable of understanding how local, national and international dynamics interact in the context of plural societies with their own dynamics. In a globalized world, it is necessary to conduct comparative studies, overcome some nationalist approaches and cross experiences horizontally. Latin America should not continue to be studied as a separate world, but as one more piece of a changing and plural world.
